SEN Support
Message from Co-Founder and SEN Specialist
As a SEN specialist with over 25 years of experience supporting and teaching children with additional needs, I remain passionate about providing empathetic, bespoke and tailored support for children with SEN. I began my career in a mainstream primary school with a language resource base for pupils with Speech and Language difficulties. This enabled me to gain highly specialist knowledge and experience; I knew with certainty that this was the area in which I wanted to dedicate my energy. I moved on to become a senior leader in a specialist Dyslexia/ADHD school for ten fulfilling years. Latterly, I have excelled as a senior leader for Inclusion in a mainstream primary setting for the last eleven years. I am a highly qualified SENDCO and Dyslexia specialist. Acceptance, understanding and inclusion are at the heart of everything I do.
At Beyond Tutoring, we can provide support with the following: Dyslexia, DCD, ASC (autism), ADHD, PDA, Language and processing difficulties, Dyscalculia, processing difficulties , memory and other SPLD.
Witnessing the progress, increase in self-esteem and wellbeing which can be gained from specialist individual tutoring, inspired me to establish Beyond Tutoring. With this wealth of knowledge and experience, I am perfectly placed and privileged to support you and your child on every step of their learning journey.
Whether your child requires support with co-occurring difficulties or would simply benefit from one-to-one, individual support to feel more confident and prepared in class, let us help you find an experienced and dedicated tutor.
At Beyond Tutoring, our specialist tutors use an individual approach to help children develop and learn. Our SEN tutors ensure that sessions are fun, engaging and interactive. We will incorporate your child’s hobbies and interests to help develop a love of learning. We use tools, hands-on resources and varied strategies to boost your child’s independence, engagement and self-esteem.
SEN Tutoring
We pride ourselves on taking the time to consult with you and your family in depth so that we can ensure that the SEN tutor we provide is uniquely matched to your child.
In addition, as part of an extended consultation, we can match you with our affiliated trusted professionals, such as: Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Child and Adolescent Counsellors.
During the extended consultation, we can advise you on school support; suitable schools for your child; whether an EHCP would benefit your child; as well as demystifying professional reports. We can support with writing learning plans for schools; arrange in-school observations and attend school-based meetings to support you and your family.
